Ben Greenwood is the Process Improvement Coordinator at Habasit UK. This means that it is his mission to figure out how he can create a better experience for customers and employees alike. eHabasit has been one of the most exciting ways he is seeing this happen.

What began five years ago as a simple electronic ordering system has expanded into a web-based resource of real-time information. During or after office hours, this site is always available with everything one needs to make a timely and efficient order. Products can be searched for by dimension, line and machine name through a live search of raw stock to find out what is available and when. Belts are listed with their corresponding names in different industries so that each customer can easily identify the product for which they are looking.

The site is convenient for tracking new and old orders. Not only can customers access documentation for every product or service, but they can also view their full order history, clocked arrival and departure times for any service, additional notes made by engineers and even the option of viewing the customer signature so that a company can see who signed off on a specific job.

Each individual order is quality checked by engineers before it goes out. If a product is unavailable, the customer will be contacted within the first one to two working hours. Either an alternative will be advised or Habasit will be quick to access national and international stock in order to find the best match. At Habasit, a fast response and a short lead time are the norm and not the exception.

What doesn’t change
Ben began in the company as a Customer Care Coordinator six years ago and has moved up to the Process Improvement Leader he is today. He says that through whatever changes he has seen in the company, the core value of caring for the individual has always remained.

“Habasit is interested in how to help people grow and better themselves,” Ben explains. “This helps business, but this also helps customers.”
