Back in 2010, Habasit introduced the Colleague of the Year Award Scheme to recognise those employees who were recognised among their peers as going ‘above and beyond’. The Scheme has enabled the business to demonstrate the value they see coming from the many individuals who have been nominated since it started.
All nominees receive £100 to spend on a meal with their friends and family, as a ‘Thank You’ from the Company for their efforts. So far this year we have 4 nominations, looking to take over the crown from last year’s worthy winner, Steve Hutchinson. Steve was recognised after he led the on-site clean-up operation which had followed severe flash flooding. He realised the need for an immediate response, despite it being the weekend, and ensured the Bingley Production Unit was cleaned up and operational for the Monday. Steve received a further cash award when he was voted as the overall winner.
So, who are the nominations for 2015? Five of our team are in the running:
Neil Thomas (Swansea Regional Service Centre) – for generating extra business by calling on customers on his journeys to and from fittings.
Simon Dent (IT Department) – for ensuring a smooth installation of a new server, working over the weekend to minimise disruption to colleagues and customers
Becky Singleton (Customer Care Department) – for willingly learning new skills such as production of drawings, to improve our responsiveness to customers and level of service
Steven Froggat (Nottingham Regional Service Centre) – who worked at very short notice to cover a colleague who was ill, making sure that a customer’s downtime was minimal following an out-of-hours breakdown
Steven Gledhill (Nottingham Regional Service Centre) – who has saved money for the company by taking on property and equipment repairs.
The final nominations will be reviewed by the Works Council in early January, who will then recommend their winner for the overall 2015 award. We look forward to announcing the results very soon.
